Extracurricular activities


Yoga classes are given twice a week for one hour and a half on campus by an experienced instructor in hatha yoga.

Self defense

Self defence classes are given by our black belt taekwondo professor, with more than 20 years experience. These are taught twice a week.

Tropical dance

Tropical dance classes are twice a week on campus. By the end of the term students will know the basics of salsa, merengue, cumbia, bachata and other latin dances.

Scuba diving

Scuba diving is an option for students doing their semester abroad. There is a practical and theorical training to get the Open Water PADI certification.

Costa Rican cooking

Students will learn typical Costa Rican cooking with a host mother. The classes are once a week on campus.

Bible study

This group gets together twice a week off campus and is in Spanish. Each meeting they read some Bible passage and talk about it and how it  affects their life.

Conversation club

Conversation club is once a week with one of our Spanish professors. They do a variety of activities on campus and around San José.
